Artists initiative: BALTIC RAW ORG

The operative organisation BALTIC RAW ORG is an association of artists, dramaturges, humanities scholars and architects undertaking and enforcing temporary interventions in public space. These are often forms of “land appropriation”, temporary uses and short-term occupations of empty lots and spaces in urban space.
At the interface between architecture and sculpture, mobile spatial units are created that fall back on elements of serial construction. Site-specific combinations and configurations are produced by means of a modular architecture. A network of partners and participants enlivens the mobile spatial units with installations, projections and actions – the place is settled.
BALTIC RAW ORG can be called a social construction whose platform serves to fathom and develop spaces of artistic action. Like a relay reflector, BALTIC RAW ORG receives signals and sends these impulses to its immediate surroundings in a play and exchange between producer, mediator and consumer. Daily alternating programs make use of the energy conveyed by the mobile and situational. This engenders a hybrid form situated between gallery and trash, stage and club.
